Natalie Portman, who plays Jane Foster in the film, said the film is “so gay” after being asked by reporters at a London event, “How gay is the film?” Her co-star and the film’s director Taika Waititi, who plays Korg, stepped in, calling the film “super gay.”
Waititi’s character is said to be confirmed to be part of the LGBT community. During the film, Korg alludes to his parents’ same-sex relationship, describing the way in which he was “conceived,” by two males holding hands over molten lava. As PluggedIn has pointed out, there may be no females in the Korg species. However, it seems that Disney is using it to elevate LGBT relationships.

In addition, during the new film, the character of Tessa Thompson Valkyrie is allegedly confirmed as a member of the LGBT community, according to Pink News, a pro-LGBT outlet.
This comes after Disney executives said in leaked videos of the brand’s internal summit this spring that the company will raise more LGBT plots in projects going forward.
Disney CEO Bob Chapek, whose contract was recently extended for another three years, vowed at the “Reimagine Tomorrow” summit to be “a better ally for the LGBTQ + community.” And Karey Burke, president of general entertainment for Disney, said she wants to see “many, many, many GLATQIA characters” in Disney movies and TV shows.
At the same event, Disney executive producer Latoya Raveneau praised the entertainment company for supporting her “all-secret gay agenda” and for “adding oddity” to plots.
